We carry out research into core questions related to climate, energy and social systems using in-depth scientific modelling, profitability calculations and life cycle assessment, and provide public bodies and businesses with support in implementing measures aimed at promoting climate resilience and climate neutrality.

Our research examines the complex relationships between the climate, energy systems and society, and the common topics running through them. Three research groups carry out interdisciplinary research covering a broad range of subjects.

We support businesses, policymakers and society as they make the transition to climate neutrality and a circular economy, while taking technological, economic, environmental and social aspects into consideration.
We specialise in the life cycle-based assessment of sustainability, innovative value chains running from the raw material through to the end product or service, and concept design for measures and implementation aimed at promoting climate-neutral energy technologies, energy systems and lifestyles.
