PROJECT DESCRIPTION
H2GreenFUTURE is a project aimed at solving challenges related to the development of hydrogen technologies for the transition to a carbon-neutral society in Slovenia and Austria. The project is aware of the growing impact of climate change and highlights the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to low-carbon technologies such as hydrogen.
Key aspects of the project include the development of pilot infrastructure for hydrogen technologies, promoting the development of knowledge and competencies in companies and students, and creating a comprehensive innovation ecosystem with a stable legislative framework. The “quadruple helix” approach, involving the cooperation of politics, industry, science and civil society, is a central element of the project strategy.
Project activities are focused on three pillars: research and innovation, knowledge and competences, and the introduction of testing mechanisms to adapt regulations for the development of breakthrough innovations. It includes a cross-border H2 demo – a pilot project to identify barriers in the cross-border area, a regulatory sandbox to establish a legislative framework, and awareness-raising and knowledge transfer activities.
H2GreenFUTURE is consistent with the Action Plan for Hydrogen Technologies in the Interreg region Slovenia-Austria, which was created within the framework of the H2GreenTECH project (Interreg SI-AT). Ongoing cross-border collaboration, innovative approaches such as pilot demonstrations and regulatory sandboxes, and a combination of digital and traditional educational methods highlight the project’s commitment to promoting the development of hydrogen technologies in the region.
