H2GreenFUTURE at the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Conference 2025: From Results to Impact

Vienna, 27 May 2025 — At the end of May, a representative of the H2GreenFUTURE project attended the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme Conference, held in Vienna under the slogan “From Results to Impact: Cooperation Takes Synergies Forward.” The event brought together more than 200 participants from the broader Interreg community, aiming to explore ways to increase the impact of EU co-financing and to present a new strategic call for capitalisation of project results.

The conference was opened by Christiane Breznik, Head of the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Managing Authority, and Stella Arneri from the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds. Keynote speaker Furio Honsell, a mathematician and former mayor of Udine, highlighted the importance of resilience and innovation through cross-border cooperation. The event also featured a high-level panel with representatives from the European Commission and national ministries, thematic workshops on innovation, climate resilience, and better connectivity with border regions, as well as the presentation of the new strategic capitalisation call, which aims to scale up successful project outcomes.

Among the invited projects was our own H2GreenFUTURE, operating under the Interreg Slovenia–Austria programme. As part of the thematic workshop “Supporting the Transition to Climate-Neutral Energy,” we participated in discussions on how to leverage project results to drive meaningful change in Central European regions. We also presented a poster showcasing the key achievements of our project, along with planned future results and activities.
In addition to high-level discussions and thematic workshops, the conference offered interactive sessions such as “PowerPoint Karaoke” and numerous opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange. Our participation in the event enabled valuable connections with other partners and strengthened our role in co-creating a sustainable and green future for the Central European region.
