Dear,
within the framework of the H2GreenFUTURE project, which the project partners from Slovenia and Austria are implementing as part of the Interreg SI-AT program, we are forming the H2GreenFUTURE working group and the stakeholder committee of the Hydrogen Center, which will play a key role in creating legislative frameworks and building an ecosystem to promote the development of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia and Austria.
The H2GreenFUTURE project is designed to solve key challenges related to the development of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia and Austria and its transition to a carbon-neutral society. Main results include:
1. Development of pilot infrastructure: Establishment of pilot infrastructure for hydrogen technologies, which will enable testing and implementation of new solutions. 2. Formation of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem: Formation of a stable legislative framework and promotion of cooperation between industry, companies and infrastructure for the development of low-carbon hydrogens 3. Promotion of the development of knowledge and competences: Focusing on the development of knowledge and competences in companies and among students, which will accelerate innovation in this area.
The key highlights are:
1. Improving cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria, especially through the cross-border pilot project for the promotion and assessment of low-carbon technologies and the implementation of the H2GreenTECH Action Plan. 2. Providing support to companies on both sides of the border in understanding the technical, safety and regulatory aspects of hydrogen technology, which is key to successful start-up and development.
The goal of the H2GreenFUTURE project is to enable a pilot project as a model example that will demonstrate all the key prerequisites for the successful implementation of hydrogen technologies in the SI-AT cross-border region.
The H2GreenFUTURE working group will cover all stakeholders; researchers, industry, research and development centers, technology parks, students and other individuals who, through the exchange of knowledge, experience and other information, will define pilot boundary conditions, enable and encourage innovations in the field of hydrogen technologies. As part of establishing the pilot, they will be involved in:
– definition of the pilot, services and equipment and voluntary professional support for the implementation of the cross-border hydrogen pilot in Slovenia and Austria; – preparation of boundary conditions for the implementation of the pilot – establishment of the implementation of the action plan of the previous H2GreenTECH project and the example of the establishment of a local energy community in Slovenia and Austria; – preparation of political recommendations within the framework of the regulatory sandbox; – participation in educational activities.
Until the end of the project in November 2026, the activities of the members of the H2GreenFUTURE working group will take place within the framework of expert regional meetings, interregional congresses in Ljubljana, Maribor and Graz, and an extended political forum.
In the framework of the working group, we will form a committee of stakeholders of the Hydrogen Center, which will meet twice a year and participate in the decision-making process of the H2GreenFUTURE project.
As a member of the H2GreenFUTURE working group and/or the board of the Hydrogen Center, you will co-shape the policy of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia and Austria and thus contribute to a faster transition to green energy sources. In addition, we enable you to:
– exposure of your organization on our website of the Hydrogen Center and social networks; – active participation in the creation of a hydrogen ecosystem in the area of Slovenia and Austria; – networking; – regular information on the situation in the field of hydrogen technologies and the progress of the project; – and the opportunity to co-design the project.
Membership in the informal working group is free. Initially, participating network partners will sign a non-binding cooperation agreement.
